***A warm cup to dunk some fresh biscotti*** Biscotti are Italian almond biscuits that originated in the Tuscan city of Prato. They are twice-baked, rectangle or oblong-shaped, dry, crunchy, and may be dipped in a drink, traditionally Vin Santo.
Here is how to make some almond and chocolate chip biscotti... To a cup of almonds, add a tbsp of flour, half cup sugar, a drop of vanilla extract, grated lemon rind, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp maple syrup & a tsp of baking soda. Grind these to a coarse cookie dough. Add a tbsp of chocolate chips. Make a loaf. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Cut into biscotti and bake again for another 30 minutes. Allow to cool.
You can now pack your biscotti and go on a long drive. Arrive at some mountain and consume it along with some fresh mountain air and hot coffee!
That's how the cookie crumbles!
