-- Did you know...I almost gave up on acting. I graduated college with a bunch of theater experience and I started auditioning for films. For 2 years, I only booked extra work. I was on the verge of giving up, thinking I must not have the skills to be a film actress and maybe that wasn't what God was calling me to do...when I got cast as the lead in The Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club and Touched by Grace in the same summer. 🙌
There have been a few other times over the years that I've gone several months without an acting job and I started to question if the "responsible" thing to do would be to quit acting and get a "real" job. Every single time I started having those doubts, God gave me so much acting work, I didn't have time to even think about doing anything else! 😂 More importantly, I felt His gentle assurance to stay the course and continue to minister for Him in the film industry.
Now I’ve had almost 50 leading and supporting roles in the last 8 years, and 7 Best Actress nominations (4 wins!), and He has so clearly opened all these doors! To see Him blessing me with so many wonderful jobs and all these awards... My heart is so full! 😍
Acting is not an easy career to pursue. It takes a lot of hard work and a LOT of faith, and everybody's journey looks different. But no matter what God has called you to do, He will make all things happen in His timing, and He will bless you if you faithfully follow His leading! Stay the course! And #BeBrave
