I’m not sure if you remember, but there was a time when we were just kids. We were just small humans trying to figure our way out in the world. We loved and we laughed so easily. The only thing we let hurt us were cuts + scrapes on the playground. Then, somewhere along the way life changed. We grew up. We believed the lies that people told us—of how ugly we are, of how a certain body type defines beauty, of how one race or gender or religion is above another. We became like the rest of society. We began to “fit”
in with the crowd.
the mold of what society wanted us to be.
the image our parents deemed up for us.
We lost sight of our child-like heart. We lost sight of the dreams and aspirations because maybe they were too big or scary for a world that has a hard time thinking outside-the-box. 📦 •
Who were you before the world told you who to be? Maybe we can find those people again and combine that child-like love + nature into the lessons we’ve learned since then, and become better in the end. Maybe then we might start to build a kinder, gentler, more understanding society that doesn’t judge the little things, that embraces differences, and that loves unconditionally. 💖
