challenge in bio! — At the beginning of the pandemic I was taking freelance assignments with various publications. But as case numbers started to rise, and the threat of coronavirus started to get very real, my parents and I (I’m sheltered-in-place with them) made the decision to hit pause on covid video journalism for safety reasons.
There I was. Someone obsessed with going out into the world and telling stories, grounded like everyone else. I asked myself the question, “What new opportunity does this present for me to become a better storyteller?” That’s when I created the #10ShutterClub
The rules of the #10ShutterClub
were this: For the month of April, every single day, I would post a set of 10 photos to social media that I shot the previous day. When I posted the set, I would lead with my favorite image, and then write a caption about why it was my favorite.
After shooting 4400 photos, publishing 300 images, and sharing a bunch of stories from my community, I’ve written out my top 5 takeaways from the #10ShutterClub
challenge in the latest edition of my monthly newsletter. Link in bio to read!
